December 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting month for car enthusiasts in India. Four major launches are lined up, and each one brings something new to the table—whether it is an electric SUV, fresh petrol options, or a next-gen upgrade of a popular model. If you’re planning to buy a car soon, these upcoming models are worth keeping an eye on.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara – Launching December 2

Maruti Suzuki is finally entering the electric vehicle space with the e Vitara, which will make its debut on December 2. This SUV introduces a modern design language with projector-based LED headlamps, a bold Y-shaped DRL signature, and sleek wraparound taillights. Inside, the cabin follows a tech-forward theme, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.1-inch digital driver display for a connected driving experience.

Maruti has also packed the e Vitara with comfort-oriented features such as a fixed glass roof, ventilated seats, an Infinity sound system, and a 10-way powered driver seat. On the safety front, the SUV includes 6 airbags and Level 2 ADAS, making it one of the most advanced models from the brand.

Buyers will be able to choose from two battery packs—49 kWh and 61 kWh—both capable of delivering a real-world driving range of more than 500 km. With prices expected to fall between ₹17 lakh and ₹22.50 lakh, the e Vitara is likely to become a strong contender in the affordable EV category.

Tata Harrier Petrol and Tata Safari Petrol – Launching December 9

Tata Motors will introduce petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari on December 9. Both SUVs will be powered by a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 160 PS and 255 Nm of torque, giving buyers an alternative to the existing diesel lineup.

This engine will be offered with two transmission choices: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic. With the addition of these petrol variants, Tata aims to appeal to buyers who prefer smoother and quieter petrol engines, especially for daily city driving. These models are expected to be priced below their diesel counterparts, making them an attractive option for those looking for a feature-rich SUV with lower running costs.

The new model adopts a bolder look with a wider grille, a redesigned Star Map DRL treatment, and more squared-off LED headlamps. The body features smoother contours and enhanced wheel arch cladding to give it a more muscular stance.

The cabin sees an equally big step forward. Kia is introducing a dual-screen setup, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Level 2+ ADAS for advanced driver assistance. Engine options will include 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel units. The SUV is set to arrive in India in 2026, followed by a hybrid variant in 2027.
