The Mahindra Bolero has always been one of the company’s best-selling SUVs, known for its rugged build and dependable performance. Now, Mahindra is preparing to give it a full generation upgrade in 2026, and the upcoming model promises to bring fresh styling, advanced technology, and stronger features while staying true to its tough, go-anywhere DNA.

Bold and Distinctive New Design

The 2026 Mahindra Bolero will sport a more upright and boxy stance, making it look even more commanding on the road. At the front, it will feature a redesigned grille with vertical slats, integrated DRLs, and new round LED headlamps that add a modern twist. A clamshell bonnet further enhances its bold SUV presence.

From the side, you can expect square wheel arches with body cladding for a rugged look. The SUV will ride on new dual-tone alloy wheels, and the shorter overhangs will give it better approach and departure angles for off-road driving. Underneath, the Bolero will get a major upgrade with Mahindra’s brand-new Freedom NÜ flexible platform, which will debut on 15 August 2025.

Premium Interior with Modern Touches

Inside, the 2026 Bolero will adopt a sleek all-black theme, creating a more premium and stylish cabin. It will come with a new three-spoke steering wheel and a larger touchscreen infotainment system for an upgraded user experience.

The dashboard will have a fresh design, and higher trims may feature a fully digital driver display. Standard models will get a semi-digital instrument cluster with a large color TFT MID. Comfort will be enhanced with dual-zone climate control, giving passengers a pleasant ride in all weather conditions.

Packed with Advanced Features

Reports suggest the new Bolero could be equipped with a Level-2 ADAS suite, offering features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition.

For convenience, the SUV is expected to include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, powered driver’s seat, push-button start, auto-dimming IRVM, keyless entry, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting. These upgrades will make the Bolero more connected, comfortable, and driver-friendly than ever before.

Proven Engine and Strong Build

Under the hood, Mahindra is likely to continue offering the 1.5-litre mHawk diesel engine from the current model, known for its reliability and efficiency. The SUV will retain its 5-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive setup, making it a strong performer both on city roads and rugged terrains.

Production will take place at Mahindra’s new Chakan facility, with plans to build around 1.2 lakh units in the first phase. This ensures that the demand for the upgraded Bolero can be met without long waiting periods.
